Qatari Foreign Minister HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said on Friday that Qatar has held talks with Saudi Arabia on the Gulf crisis, Al Jazeera reported.
The minister said he is expecting positive results from the meeting.
He said the conversation did not discuss the 13 demands put forth by the blockading neighbors.
He said, "Talks were held are with the brothers in Saudi Arabia and we hope that they will produce positive results."
He made the remarks during his speech at the Mediterranean Dialogues Forum currently being held in the Italian capital of Rome.
"We moved from a dead end in the Gulf crisis to talk about a future vision regarding the relationship with Saudi Arabia," the minister said in the first official statement from Doha on the developments of the Gulf reconciliation file.
