All five obligatory prayers starting from Tuesday noon and the Friday prayer in mosques across Qatar have been stopped until further notice due to the spread of coronavirus, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has said.
All mosques in the country will be closed, it added.
The rule will be in effect until the safe condition is ensured for worshipers, in the context of strengthening preventive and precautionary measures taken by the Qatar to limit the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19).
The statement added that the call to prayer will continue to be made in all the country's mosques, while the ministry will continue to communicate with the competent authorities to reopen the mosques as soon as the danger of the epidemic has passed.
