The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has started a massive sterilisation campaign in the early hours of Sunday to disinfect public areas as part of efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus.
The campaign started with disinfecting roads around the Hamad General Hospital.
Earlier in March, the Ministry of Administrative Development Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) started a sanitation drive in workers' accommodations in Qatar. On the first day of the drive, the MADLSA teams sanitised 232 accommodation facilities. As part of the campaign, the labour ministry teams inspected housing facilities to ensure appropriate measures were in place to prevent the transmission of the virus.
