Indian fest at Sealine on March 30

SANTHOSH CHANDRAN

DOHA THE Sealine Beach Resort at Mesaieed will organise an Indian cultural festival on March 30.

The show titled ‘Bang Barse’ (smeared in colours) be organised in association with Red Apple Events.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Jassim Mohammed, chief coordinating officer of Red Apple Events, said, “It will be the first of its kind and will showcase a traditional Indian fair.

The beach area of the resort will be decked with stalls of traditional Indian sweet makers, bangle makers, handicraft workers, street magicians and folk musicians.” The organisers said the event would be like one of the festivals held in Rajastan, Uther Pradesh or Delhi, in the northern part of India.

Colours will be available at stalls on the day to smear, which is a key part of festivals in northern India.

Sealine Beach Resort Manager Abdul Shukoor said, “We have always supported shows which depict culture and tradition of various countries.

This show will be a beautiful depiction of Indian festivals.” The Sealine Beach Resort has before now organised African, Chinese and Indian festivals at its beach front.

Bollywood star Kubra Sait will perform during the show which will be spiced up with Indian percussion. Two female DJs will also perform.

Tickets valued at QR100 will be available for QR75 as a special discount up to March 25.

The press conference was attended by Vignesh Prabhu, Sealine assistant food and beverage manager, and Mujeeb Hamza, Red Apple director of finance.
