Give us six months to deliver: Mulayam

PTI LUCKNOW / NEW DELHI WORK of common man would be done “easily and systematically”, Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav said on Friday and asked for a six month time to deliver on the said promises.

“Now as the SP government has been formed in UP, the work of common man will be done easily and systematically.

We should give at least six months time to the government to do some work,” Yadav said while addressing party workers at SP headquarter in Lucknow. I expect that ministers would do some “concrete work” in their respective departments, said the former chief minister. He also asked the party workers to gear up for 2014 Loksabha polls.

“You all should ensure victory in 2014 polls and start working in your areas. Our target should be winning all the seats,” he said.

Yadav assured that he would keep a tab on the government.

Such an arrangement would be made that all the letters received should be replied so that people do not have to run to the state capital for getting their work done.

Asking party men to remain in their areas and strengthen the party, Yadav said that government should be allowed to do its work and they all should strengthen the party organisation and act in this regard.

Meanwhile, smarting from its poor showing in the UP assembly elections, the state Congress said on Friday it would monitor the performance of the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party government and continue to struggle for the people of the state. State Congress chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi, who is in the capital to meet party general secretary Rahul Gandhi as part of the exercise examine the reasons for the party’s poll debacle, said the party will monitor how the Akhilesh Yadav government implements central schemes.
