Attiyah takes 11-minute lead in Sealine rally
QATAR’s Nasser bin Saleh al Attiyah used his knowledge of the local terrain to perfection to take a dominating 11-minute lead in the Sealine Cross-Country Rally in his new car Toyota Hilux, on Wednesday. He even managed to overtake all the motorcycles and was the first competitor to reach the finish of the stage. The local star increased his 8.7-second overnight lead to 11 minutes and 7 seconds after the first day special stage.
Indian rupee falls 30 paise to three-week low
THE Indian rupee fell to its lowest in three months on Wednesday, as traders bet on a much more cautious central bank, now that it has delivered a bigger-thanexpected rate cut. Domestic stocks also came off their earlier highs on Wednesday, further weighing on the rupee. The rupee closed at 51.78/79 to the dollar from Tuesday’s close of 51.48, marking its lowest level since January 16.
