Dulquar Salman enjoys acting
DULQUAR Salman’s debut film Second Show did reasonable business at the box office, but it hasn’t stopped filmmakers from offering films to the youngster. The young actor, who is Malayalam superstar Mammootty’s son, is happy with his profession and the way his acting career is shaping up.
Salman, who used to look after his father’s money matters before taking up acting, said his second film Ustad Hotel will be completed in a week and then he will move on to the next film.
“I am excited about Varsham, my third film. The film’s shooting will begin shortly. It’s a love story. The director is a new face, Kannan, and the hunt for the female lead is on. Kannan has also co-written the script for the film,” said Salman.
“All in all, things are fine and I am enjoying my new found profession. A few other proposals are also in the pipeline, including a film by one of the country’s leading directors,” said Salman, a graduate from the US.
When asked about his father’s latest film, Kobra, which hits the theatres soon, Salman said that it will be a fun film.
“Yes, of late, a few of his films did not do expected business, but with his new release, things are going to change. I saw the film last night and it looks good and is an entertainer,” said Salman.
What about a probable role alongside his father? The 25- year-old laughed and said: “I am in no hurry.
