DOHA QATAR University's College of Business and Economics recently felicitated 198 students (151 women and 47 men) who were named on the dean's list for achieving GPA 3.5 and above in Fall 2012. DOHA QATAR Shell Research and Technology Centre (QSRTC) recently hosted a group of 64 TEDx Summit organisers from around the world at its centre located at the Qatar Science and Technology Park. According to a press release issued by Shell recently, the visitors toured the QSRTC facility and had an overview of the research being conducted at the centre during the visit. The TEDx Summit recently held in Qatar was the first to be held in the Middle East. The work at QSRTC is focused on the development and implementation of technologies that support Qatar's energy industry, specifically in the fields of Gas to Liquids (GTL)
First 'Made in Qatar' technology makes international debut
DOHA AN ICT platform developed and owned by Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) and Aspetar has been deployed by the city of Rome, in Italy for studies aimed at addressing prevalent health concerns. According to a press release issued by Qatar Foundation, the new technology, known as Rasad, is a wireless information transfer platform that enables real time remote monitoring using wireless sensors and is the first technology developed in Qatar outside the energy sector to be commercialised and exported.
