QBA to host business etiquette seminar

DOHA THE Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA), in partnership with Shoura Business Group, will organise a seminar titled ‘Business Etiquette and International Protocol’ at the St Regis Hotel from May 20 to 22.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, QBA Chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al Thani said that the initiative aligns with the organisation’s objectives of providing unique services for the Qatari business community.

He said that the seminar aims to attract senior officials and executives in order to help them facilitate trade relations, reduce the cultural and linguistic barriers with their business partners and provide a professional image for their companies.

QBA Second Deputy Chairman and Chairman of Qatar International Islamic Bank Dr Sheikh Khalid bin Thani al Thani, QBA Secretary General and Chairman of Al Salam International Issa Abdelsalam Abu Issa, representatives of Shoura Business Group Najat Raheem, CEO of Shoura Business Group Lamia al Barghouti and other dignitaries attended the press conference.

Expected speakers at the seminar include Alice Hecht, former chief of protocol in the UN and current Protocol Adviser at the UN Institution of Training & Research, Bertrand Leuba, a Swiss professional and owner & founder of Etiquette Masters Co, Ibrahim Saber, a lecturer at Virginia Commonwealth University on the Art of Film Making, Rima Arab, a certified Business Etiquette & International Protocol consultant.

Issa Abu Issa explained that the event is targeted at Qatari businessmen/women and that it will help them in acquiring business skills and ethics of international protocol.

Sheikh Khalid wished this important event all the success.

He said that Qatar has become a business centre, where major international companies are located, attracting business delegations from around the world and thus international protocol and etiquette skills are no longer limited to politicians and diplomats, but have become an urgent need for executives and company owners as well.
