donates books to QU | THE Japanese Embassy
donated 176 Japanese-related
books to Qatar University
(QU) on the occasion of the
World Book Day on Tuesday.
Ambassador of Japan to
Qatar HE Kenjiro Monji presented
the books to QU
President Dr Sheikha bint
Abdulla al Misnad. The event
was witnessed by Director of
the Department of Public
Libraries Abdullah Nasser al
Ansari.
The books were donated in
collaboration with the Japan
Foundation that participated
in the 22nd Doha
International Book Fair in
December.
This was the sixth donation
by the embassy since 1989.
There had been donations in
2006, 2008, 2010 and 2011.

(QGBC) recently conducted a
series of visits across various
recycling and waste management
facilities in Qatar.
The fact-finding mission
was aimed at tracing how
solid waste is managed in the
country.
The visit concluded at the
Domestic Solid Waste
Management Centre
(DSWMC) at Messaied,
which incorporates the
world´s biggest compost plant
in an integrated waste to
energy facility.
QGBC´s initiative aligns
with interventions outlined in
the National Development

Dr Mohammad bin Saleh al
Sada graced Shell offices in
the Netherlands recently.
He discussed current and
future projects with top company
officials. The minister
was hosted by the Chairman
of Royal Dutch Shell Jorma
Ollila, and Director of
Upstream International Andy
Brown, who was the former
chairman of Shell in Qatar.
Sada was accompanied by a
high-level delegation from
the oil and gas industry in
Qatar, comprising senior officials
and representatives
from Qatar Petroleum, Qatar
Petroleum International,
Qatargas Operating Company
and Nakilat.
