cricket on Tuesday as fresh fixing
allegations hit the game
and threatened to further tarnish
a competition already
dogged by controversy.
The Board of Control for
Cricket in India (BCCI)
moved swiftly after a sting
operation by a local TV channel
highlighted alleged fixing
and corruption in domestic
matches.
The five - TP Sudhindra,
Mohnish Mishra, Abhinav
Bali, Amit Yadav and Shalabh
Srivastava - are all first-class
players, but have yet to break
into international cricket.

all cricket till preliminary

EL JAISH Sports Club organised
a function to honour its
junior and youth basketball
teams for its achievements in
the Qatar Basketball League.
The recognition ceremony
was held on Sunday after the
Junior and the Youth teams
clinched all the matches in the
second round the league in the
1999/2000 and 2001/2002
age groups.
Mohammed Abdullah al
Obaidli, the head of the basketball
team, and Younis
Mohamed Janahi, the head of
the club age groups, attended
the ceremony along with players
and their families.
The basketball teams were
formed just one year before.
This was the first time the
teams had competed in the
