| | Mowasalat to host UITP Summit in November | MOWASALAT will host the
first International
Association of Public
Transport (UITP) MENA
Public Transport & Large
Events Summit on November
6 & 7.
This was announced by
Chairman of Mowasalat
Jassim Saif Ahmed al Sulaiti
at a press conference recently.
He said that the summit
would be a bi-annual event
until the FIFA World Cup in
2022. Earlier, Sulaiti had
signed a memorandum of
understanding with
Ousmane Thiam, president
of the Brussels-headquartered
UITP.
He thanked Thiam for
partnering Mowasalat. He
also expressed appreciation
to Abdulla Naser, head of
UITP in the MENA region for
his efforts in promoting public
transport in the region.

Boukchouch shone bright
winning the first prize award
of QR100,000 in the International
Quran Recitation
Competition held at Qatar
National Convention Centre
on Thursday.
This is the third session of
the Holy Quran Recitation
Competition which was
organised by Al Jazeera for
Children and will be broadcast
on the channel during
the holy month of
Ramadan.
Boukchouch succeeded
during the contest´s final
episode which was titled,
´Crowns of light´. His two
nearest rivals were Youssef
Nadi Tammam, a 13-year-old
who finished second with
QR75,000, and Mohannad
Ahmad Badir, an 11-year-old
who came third with
QR50,000.
Boukchouch dominated
during the third session.
