16 teams vie for Aspire Ramadan soccer fiesta

DOHA THE ASPIRE Zone Ramadan Sports Festival final 16 football team representatives met on Wednesday evening in the official preview preceding the tournament to discuss the details of the upcoming event.
Alongside the football captains, official representatives and referees met to discuss the rules and regulations, as well as the schedule of events, of the upcoming competition.
It also gave the team representatives the opportunity to seize up the opposition for the first time.
In attendance were last year’s football winners, Njoum Samba, returning to the competition determined to hold on to their title: “We are very excited to be here again after such a successful tournament last year. We have some new players on the team who will be bringing some fresh talent. We are really hoping to win again this year,” said the team representative, Jaber Al Hajjaji.
The teams expressed their excitement in the upcoming tournament, Hamad Saeed, from the Al Osoud team, stated, “This is my first time competing in the Ramadan Sports Festival. I’m really looking forward to sharing this experience with my teammates and meeting new, like-minded people. It’s great to see competitions aimed towards the community, I would love to participate in more events like this.” “We can’t wait for the tournament to begin and hopefully take home first place. We have had a great time participating so far, and we hope to see more activities like this throughout the year,” reiterated Moayad Mar’I, a player from the Al Mexico team.
The Men’s Football tournament runs from 28th July to 8th August and will be held at the Outdoor Pitches and the Outdoor Warm Up Track facility.
In addition to the men’s football technical meeting, the women’s basketball and volleyball team representatives met to discuss the logistics of their upcoming competitions and finalize the draw.
The women’s volleyball competition runs from 22 July to 30 July, whilst the women’s basketball competition commences on 31 July and finishes on August 8.
