The Central Municipal Council (CMC) has recommended a revision of the GCC standardisation regulation for imported goods and suggested local standardisations instead. CMC member Abdulrahman al Khulaify has recommended Qatar General Organisation for Standardization (QGOS) to revise the regulations on car tyres and their validity. œThere is a misconception that vehicle tyres are only valid for two years, while it is actually for five years. This allows merchants to sell the tyres to foreign companies at a very low rate, ‌ Khulaify said.
