The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has denounced Sunday's attack on the principal and an administrative officer of the Omar Bin Khattab Secondary School for Boys by a student and his family members.
In a statement on Monday, the ministry said this act of violence does not represent the ethical values and morals integral to students.
The authorities concerned have started necessary procedures against the offenders after arresting them, it added.
Minister of Education and Higher Education HE Dr Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed al Hammadi is pursuing the matter with the special authorities, and have checked on the health of the victims who have been transferred to the Hamad Medical Corporation for treatment.
Director of Schools' Affairs Department Khalifa al Derham said the ministry has taken necessary action in the matter and is providing the victims with all support as it does not accept any form of violence against any member of the educational institutions.
Derham noted that school principal Hassan al Bouainin was discharging his educational duty in enforcing the ministry's rules to deal with violations during the examination.
"The ministry, along with its administration and the institutions under it, have their sanctity, given their role in educating the nation's human resources," he added.
The department head confirmed that the ministry is following the matter closely.
Derham said the minister directed the specialised departments at the ministry represented by the department of schools' affairs and legal affairs to investigate the incident.
