The Deputy Emir HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al Thani, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Qatar University, presided over the second meeting of the Board of Trustees for the academic year 2017-18 at the Emiri Diwan on Monday.
The board approved the University Calendar for the next three years (2017-18), (2018-19), (2019-20), as well as amendments to the organisational structure of Qatar University.
The board also approved the introduction of a number of master's and doctoral programmes. The new programmes are Master's Program in Genetic Counselling, Master's Program in Religions and Dialogue of Civilizations, and the Joint Doctoral Program in Health Sciences (Biomedical Sciences, Medical Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences), and the Doctoral Program in Fiqh and Principles of Jurisprudence.
The board approved the creation of three sections of the Faculty of Law ” Private Law, General Law, and Legal Skills.
