AL RAYYAN Municipality carried out 9,405 inspections visits to food outlets in 2017. It also made 1,077 inspection visits for issuance of new commercial licences. In addition, 37 joint surprise campaigns were conducted and 132 temporary permits were issued.
The Municipality also detected a number of violations and disposed of 252 'whole sheep' for not complying with some health requirements.
Moreover, 25 shops were closed down and 309 samples were sent to the Central Laboratory.
The fines amounted to QR1,310,400. (TNN)
