The Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) organised a felicitation event for the first batch of senior Qatari executives in its pioneering Future CEO (FCEO) programme.
The event, which was held in Doha on Saturday, was attended by Nasser Ahmed al Shaibi, Deputy Chairman of Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA), and Yousuf Mohamed al Jaida, Chief Executive Officer, QFC Authority, a press statement said on Sunday.
The FCEO pioneering batch includes C level executives representing different companies in various sectors in Qatar such as Qatar Petroleum, QInvest, and Qatar University.
QFBA, with the support of the Qatar Financial Centre Authority (QFCA), launched the Future CEO programme in October 2016 and the programme ran until January 2018 - more than 15 months.
The programme offered a promising experience for senior Qatari executives from varying business functions, such as finance, corporate planning, operations, administration, etc.
The programme groomed them towards the strategic functions of being a CEO in any industry. FCEO focused on developing business success factors that are Qatar specific via exploration of the unique strengths and challenges faced by institutions in Qatar.
Several best practices across various industries were shared and discussed, spanning aspects related to marketing and business strategy, managing change, blockade induced challenges and mapping of informal networks.
Shaibi said,"Qatar's unique developmental situation in all areas requires qualified and specifically trained business leaders to keep abreast of the pace of economic activity in the country.
"Therefore, it is necessary to focus on investing in the nation's human resources and preparing them to suit the requirements of this era and the phase that the region is currently going through. We are delighted to participate in this exciting event and witness a number of senior Qatari executives achieve this prestigious international certification."
