THE 5th Winter Festival, which is set to conclude at the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara on Monday, has attracted a large number of visitors of different age groups and diverse nationalities.
The festival, according to a Katara press release on Sunday, featured an array of entertainment activities as well as informative campaigns.
One of the highlights of the festival is the showcase of perfumes, clothing and accessories produced by startup businesses by Bedaya Center.
Al-Gannas Association is holding an exhibition and educational workshops for young falconers in a large tent. In addition, the organisers of Al-Galayel Championship are hosting an exhibition displaying collectables and equipment from all earlier championships.
Both Al-Galayel and Al-Gannas pavilions are attracting many visitors as the public rushed to capture pictures with the falcons.
A popular traditional troupe is staging a variety of folk shows at the festival.
The visitors can also acquire traditional artistic pieces from Katara's traditional souq and enjoy the food and beverages at its cafes. The souq features pavilions that offer products such as textiles, perfumes and art collection.
The participating medical centres offer health awareness programmes as well as free health checkups.
Yet another highlight of the festival is the stage presentation of 'Snow White' by Anasa W Wanasa troupe.
Furthermore, the festival features fun learning activities for children like drawing, painting and handicrafts activities.
Abdul Aziz, a visitor said:"I liked the way the festival has been planned with entertainment activities and informative workshops. My children enjoyed the shows and the games a lot." Another visitor Um Nour said:"My children had a gala time spending their holidays at the Winter Festival at Katara. I would like to thank the organisers for such a wonderful festival." While Lara expressed her admiration for the stage performances as it helped her have an idea of the rich Qatari heritage. (TNN)
