HUMAN Rights Department at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) signed on Sunday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) to renew cooperation on training in the field of international humanitarian law and human rights law.
The MoU also aims to support vocational and technical rehabilitation and training programs for inmates of penal and correctional institutions and other cooperation aspects in all fields.
This memorandum is a renewal of the MoU which was signed between both parties in 2006, to include the prospects of a broader joint work on legal, humanitarian and social levels.
The MoU was signed by Director of the Human Rights Department Brigadier Abdullah Saqr al Mohannadi and Secretary-General of QRCS Ali bin Hassan al Hammadi.
Mohannadi said the MoU which was signed in 2006 showed the willingness of both sides to establish an effective partnership that reflects the importance and vitality of the relationship between the MoI, NGOs and civil society institutions for the development of the society through humanitarian projects and initiatives that achieve their common objectives.
