the 2018 Al Kass International Cup kicked off at Aspire Zone on Sunday with smashing action as title holders Real Madrid thrashed Fenerbahce 6-2.
The Turks took a shock early lead through left back Abdulcebrail Akbulut in the early minutes of the game, a goal which proved fatal as Real turned on the heat almost immediately.
Striker Juan Latasa benefited from some poor goalkeeping as Umut Eren Tunc fumbled an easy catch in the box which left the Real attacker with an open net to pull level.
It was all Real Madrid from then as Camunas found the net from close range with a side-footed volley. Midfielder de Frias double, Carlos Gonzalez and David Blaco made it six for Spanish side.
Fenerbahce pulled one back from the spot as Omer Beyaz converted in added time.
In the other game, Benfica thumped Guangzhou Evergrande 4-0 despite the Chinese team's defensive effort. Goncalo de Oliveira grabbed a brace, while impressive winger Jair Tavares scored in the second half. The Portuguese side completed the rout when Nunes blasted home from close range.
On Monday, Aspire Academy will play Guangzhou Evergrande, Aspire Football Dreams meet Fenerbahce in the first matches of the day while Kashiwa Reysol will meet Tottenham Hotspur later in the evening.
