DOHA Qatar has been ranked number one in the world in terms of Internet penetration for the period between January 2017 and January 2018. According to"Digital in 2018" insight report, Qatar with 2,640,360 internet users has 99 percent Internet penetration. With just 7 percent of its population having access to the Internet, Madagascar was named the least internet penetrated country in the world. The report said Qatar's policies, initiatives, operators and other stakeholders helped it reach the top position. The number of Internet users in Qatar has increased by 18 percent since January 2017, while that of active social media users increased by 10 percent. Qatar has 99 percent Internet users as a percentage of the total population. Total number of active mobile users is 2.3 million, the report added. ” Victor Bolorunduro
