FIFA chief calls on GCC states to make Qatar World Cup a success

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has called for concerted efforts by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to make Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup a success.
Speaking on the sidelines of the FIFA Executive Football Summit in Muscat on Wednesday, Infantino affirmed that the 2002 World Cup will be held in Qatar. The FIFA President said he was delighted to attend the opening ceremony of the 23rd Gulf Cup in Kuwait."The Gulf Cup has become a model for the great role sport plays in bringing people closer," he said. Infantino said the FIFA forum discussed a number of important topics such as the 2026 World Cup. (TNN)
