THE Ministry of Municipality and Environment through its Joint Committee for Rain Emergencies pumped out more than 10mn gallons of rainwater from waterlogged roads on Sunday morning.
Head of Committee Safar al Shafi said that until Sunday morning, over 10 million gallons of rainwater were pumped out using 182 tanks operated by 429 workers. He added that they had received 58 complaints of waterlogging from residents all of which have been addressed successfully.
He further said that the exercise to drain rainwater from waterlogged streets is carried out by the MME in coordination with the Public Work Authority 'Ashghal' and Qatar Meteorology Department. (Hisham Aljundi/Doha)
