THE Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has reshaped its procurement and contracting strategies in order to minimise the disruption to the daily lives of residents from its construction activities, Ashghal's Technical Office Manager Ahmad Ali al Ansari has said.
He was speaking at an 'industry briefing' on Ashghal's upcoming infrastructure projects, where Ashghal officials stressed the importance of community outreach to reduce the construction impact on the daily lives of people and to the surrounding environment.
During the event, Ashghal officials presented the roads and drainage projects that will be implemented during 2018-19.
Assistant President of Ashghal Abdullah al Attiyah said that the event aims not only to introduce Ashghal's upcoming projects to construction companies, but also to raise awareness of the Authority's continuous development of the methods adopted to manage and implement projects.
Manager of Roads Projects Development Saoud al Tamimi said 37 infrastructure development projects have been planned to be implemented in the existing and new subdivisions in 2018.
Representatives of several companies in the construction industry attended the event, including contractors, suppliers, manufacturers and consultants, in addition to officials from governmental and non-governmental institutions.
