THE Law No. 5 of 2018 on national service issued by HH the Emir on Wednesday will receive a great response from the female component of the Qatari society.
Many female citizens welcomed the law and expressed their joy in their inclusion as part of 'voluntary service'.
Like many young women, Aisha, a 23-year-old Qatari national, expressed her joy and pride of the inclusion of Qatari women in the Emiri law enabling them to perform military service.
She added that giving Qatari women an opportunity to actively serve their country in the field of defense is an important precedent in Qatar reflecting the country's continuous progress in ensuring gender equality.
"I think the law will receive a great response from the female component of the Qatari society as it broadens their chances of giving back to their beloved country and emphasizes the importance of their contribution to national affairs," said another proud Qatari woman.
