Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has added new features to its QIB Mobile App to offer more convenience and personalised experience to its customers.
"These new features have been added in response to increased customers' demand for QIB to help them manage their money instantly," QIB said in a press statement on Wednesday.
A major functionality that the new update offers, is the option of opening an additional bank account within few taps on the screen. This feature eliminates the need for customers to visit a branch or call a bank representative, and leaves them with a more convenient banking experience.
Any QIB customer can now open a saving or misk account, through the app, and start enjoying its associated benefits instantly such as earning profit rate on the savings and enter the draw to win QR10,000 weekly.
Customers can also open additional accounts in different currencies such as euro, dollar, or pound. They can also open a fixed deposit instantly, select their preferred tenure and start earning higher profit rates.
The new app update also allows customers to set up standing orders in few minutes through their mobile devices.
Standing order is an efficient way of setting up a regular, fixed transfer from customers' accounts and it can be done in very simple steps using the app.
The updated app will allow customers to make recurring fund transfers to family and friends, pay instalments or save, in seconds.
Customers can now take care of their transfers in a very efficient manner through QIB's Mobile App, the statement said.
"The latest upgrade is designed to promote flexibility in electronic banking whilst ensuring a user friendly and secure customer experience," said D Anand, QIB's General Manager, Personal Banking Group.
"We are pleased to see many of QIB's customers have started using the latest features where several additional accounts have been opened and many new standing orders have been created."
During this year, QIB has introduced many new features to help customers manage their finances quickly and easily.
"Since its last major upgrade, we have started noticing a significant increase in the number of logins, transfers and utility bill payments transactions taking place on a monthly basis. This is a great testament of the usability of QIB Mobile App," Anand said.
The newly released banking app is one of the first milestones that will be followed by many initiatives and updates across the digital banking channels that QIB offers for individuals and corporations.
