Emir issues law on commercial, industrial and public shops

Doha The Emir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani on Wednesday issued Law No. 6 of 2018, amending some provisions of Law No. 5 of 2015 regarding similar commercial, industrial and public shops and street vendors. According to the amendment, a cabinet decision upon a proposal by the minister shall decide the licence period depending on the type of the licensed shop. This period shall be renewable for one or more similar terms after settling the decided fees. The relevant department, based on the request of the concerned party, shall renew the licence accordingly. The law is effective from the next day of its publication in the Official Gazette. (QNA)
