The National Committee for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings held a workshop on capacity building in the field of combating human trafficking for those concerned in the labour field and the employment sectors.
The workshop was attended by a number of international experts, academics, policy makers, officials of organisations and institutions concerned with the rights of workers and representatives of business sector and companies.
The workshop aimed at promoting national communication cooperation among the concerned bodies, introducing UN standards, guidelines, statistics and studies on trafficking crimes and enhancing capacity building of policy makers and those developing labour laws and standards in addition to organisations and institutions concerned with the rights of employees.
The training focused on the role and responsibility of the labour and employment sectors to address human trafficking crimes and highlighted the regulatory frameworks that can enhance cooperation, raise awareness and address the crime.
The workshop highlighted the concept of trafficking in human beings in all its forms and the role of policy makers in it.
