Q-POST (Qatar Postal Service Company) Chairman Faleh al Naemi said that currently Q-Post covers 93 percent of population in Qatar with its wide range of services and the postal network spread across the country.
Speaking to Qatar Tribune, on the sidelines of an event in Doha recently, Naemi said,"We are committed to expanding with the growing population and the development of the country. In an effort to meet the needs of as many people and provide services as fast as possible, Q-Post has opened 13 postal kiosks in the country with the partnership of country's largest retail network Al Meera, last year. As many as 28 large post offices opened in different locations have also made Q-Post's network stronger and easier to access."
Naemi also said that the feasibility study for opening new service centres and post offices according to the infrastructure development and growing population is underway. Q-Post's initiatives backed by digital technology have helped improve its product delivery services. Product delivery service is one of the key priorities of Q-Post now.
"Product delivery service shares 30 to 40 percent of total of 12 million transactions handled by Q-Post annually. Qatar's initiative to promote e-commerce will further increase the volume of our product services in the future," Naemi said.
"The role of Q-Post in logistics sector will be more important in the future. We have already partnered with some e-commerce establishments and in a move for the further expansion partnered with locally developed e-commerce companies," Naemi added.
