US investors have expressed a keen interest in investing in the construction sector in Qatar, which has witnessed a speedy growth in the last two decades.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce organised a roundtable sectoral discussion on food security, transport, and communications and information technology, on the sidelines of Qatar's Economic Roadshow of US in Charleston. The discussions also touched on joint cooperation in trading food supplies.
A number of US investors and professionals from the pharmaceutical and medical services industries expressed interest in investing in Qatar. Meanwhile, Qatar highlighted the laws related to the import of medicines and the establishment of medical complexes within Qatar, the MEC said in a press statement on Thursday
A number of Qatari and US officials and businessmen, and around 30 US companies operating in the fields of tourism and hospitality, medical equipment, renewable energy, engineering and construction, real estate, transport, food production, healthcare, education, research and energy, took part in the roundtable.
The meeting explored investment opportunities and partnerships between Qatari businessmen and their US counterparts.
