A vast majority of teachers in Qatar are satisfied with their paycheques and happy to work under their bosses, a Ministry of Education and Higher Education report has said.
According to the 2016-17 Education Report, 90 percent of teachers in government schools and 86 percent of those in government kindergartens are satisfied with their institutions'"quality of leadership".
The report, issued by the Department of Schools' Evaluation, said 89 percent of teachers in private Arabic kindergartens and 86 percent of those in international kindergartens are satisfied with their institutions'"leadership quality".
As regards the remunerations, 81 percent of government schoolteachers and 87 percent of government kindergarten teachers say they are satisfied with their salaries, according to the report.
Furthermore, 88 percent of government schoolteachers and 85 percent of kindergarten teachers believe their institution is a well-organised place to work in. Additionally, 88 percent of private Arabic kindergarten teachers and 87 percent of international kindergarten teachers feel the same way.
The annual education report provides an overview of several important aspects of Qatar's schools and kindergartens, and is designed to provide the interested parties with an understanding of schooling in Qatar as well as a useful source of data. This year's edition is the 13th in a series that has been produced annually since 2005. It contains the latest information covering the 2016-2017 academic year.
Director of the Department of Schools' Evaluation Omar al Neima said the education report provides a quantitative vision of the reality of education in Qatar as it includes specific details of most aspects related to the education system.
Neima added that the report offers updated information on schools and nurseries in the country, which provides an opportunity to analyse this data and build up discussions on it in order to make the appropriate decisions to achieve the desired progress for education in Qatar.
"We aspire for the educational development that we are working on to be a true support for sustainable development in the country," he explained.
