THE Community College Qatar (CCQ) represented by its President and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr Ibrahim al Nuaimi and the Teach for Qatar (TFQ) organisation represented by its Executive President Nasser al Jaber signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday to establish a strategic long-term partnership in the fields of education, research and community development.
Nuaimi said that the MoU aims to strengthen the two institutions' collaboration in crucial fields responsible for advancing the capacity of the educational system and developing the future generations in a way that enables them to contribute to the Qatar National Vision 2030.
For his part, Jaber noted that his organisation's partnership with CCQ enables the Teach for Qatar affiliates to further influence students and assist them in their transition to higher education.
The three-year agreement includes the establishment of a framework for cooperation between the two parties through the use of their mutual expertise and resources to advance the educational process and expand the opportunities they offer while addressing their common challenges.
According to the MoU, the Teach for Qatar organisation will have access to the CCQ facilities for training purposes. Additionally, CCQ faculty will be able to participate in the events organised by Teach for Qatar and contribute to discussions concerning challenges and opportunities in higher education as well as CCQ's role in fostering Qatari students' talents and supporting their career development.
Moreover, the MoU gives masters' degree holders working under the fellowship programme in Teach for Qatar the opportunity to work as visiting lecturers within their specialty in the CCQ.
On the other hand, the Teach for Qatar students will be able to work for CCQ once they graduate. Finally, the MoU included the two parties' agreement to meet at least twice yearly to explore further collaboration opportunities in the fields of education and teaching.
