The Advisory (Shura) Council has applauded the guidance of the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani in overcoming the siege and moving forward with confidence.
At the outset of the session on Monday, Advisory Council Speaker HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al Mahmoud extended congratulations to the Amir on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, asking Allah the Almighty to bring back this holy month and wishing the Amir and the people of Qatar prosperity, glory and greater achievements, and the Arab and Islamic nations security, peace and stability.
He said the Advisory Council, in its first session during this blessed month, recalls the unjust siege imposed on the country in this holy month last year, and praises the efforts of the Amir in preserving the dignity and honour of Qatar.
The support of the loyal Qatari citizens for its wise leadership and the positions the residents took during the seige enabled Qatar to achieve great accomplishments, he said.
The wise policy of the Amir made it easier to overcome the effects of the unjust siege, continue the process of development and prosperity, and power the march towards the future with confidence, he added.
