Statistics of students' electronic registration and early transfer for the academic year 2018-2019 indicate that the total number of students registered and transferred electronically reached 13,150 students, according to Warda Aqil, head of the Department of Students' Admission and Registration at public education schools under the administration of schools' affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
According to the report, the exercise included 3,539 male Qatari students, 3,956 female Qatari students, 126 sons of Qatari mothers, 151 daughters of Qatari mothers, and the remaining number distributed on students from GCC countries and other nationalities.
Aqil noted that the electronic registration and transfer process proved its efficacy more than the previous years, especially after the department of schools' affairs at the Ministry provided all services related to the department of students' admission and registration on the ministry's main webpage.
The ministry had also updated its electronic systems related to linking the national students' information system (NSIS) and the students' details database at the Ministry of Interior along with the system of primary health care and the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation.
An electronic survey targeting parents and aiming to measure the extent of their satisfaction with the electronic registration and transfer system was incorporated into the website.
In a sample of 1,000 participants, 80 percent reported that the early registration system is excellent. Besides, 88 percent of participants reported not having any technical or procedural difficulties during the electronic registration, according to a report by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
