Tamoor Sajjad dished out a stellar all-round display (39 runs and five wickets) to set up a 40-run victory for Warriors Club against United Challengers in the Ramadan Cup Twenty20 Cricket Tournament.
At the Asian Town Cricket Stadium, Sajjad top-scored first with 39 runs in 28 balls, including two sixes and a four, to guide Warriors Club to a healthy 166 for eight in a Premier and A Divisions match. Adnan and Andrey also played well for the winners. Adnan smashed six boundaries in 38 in 28 balls, while Andrey made 27 with a six and a four.
Later, Sajjad snared five wickets for only 14 runs to send the rivals slumping to 126 for nine in 20 overs. Ajay resisted to get a bold 42 with four sixes and two fours in his 25-ball knock. Niksy added 22 in as many balls. Umar and Kushal shared two wickets.
Al Feroz Youngsters tamed Green Lions by nine wickets in another match of the higher category, with Mussawar bowling brilliantly to collect a rich haul of four scalps for 10 runs. He caused the collapse of Green Lions at 101 in 19 overs.
Al Feroz Youngsters cruised to a nine-wicket romp with Inam cracking 52 in 51 balls, including two sixes and five hits to the rope. Faisal added 16, while Qalandar remained unbeaten on 17.
In a second division match, Said Mohammad excelled as his hat-trick in a four-wicket haul sparked Friends XI to a seven-wicket triumph against Al Khor Community. He dismissed Majid, Durai and Fawaz to reduce the rivals to 62 for 7, before Al Khor were shot out for 89 in 16.1 overs. Saleem led the charge with an unbeaten 30-ball 48, which contained five sixes and a four, and helped them complete the win in 10.4 overs.
