Minister of Economy and Commerce HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed al Thani met with US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross on the sidelines of the"Select USA"Summit in Washington on Saturday.
Sheikh Ahmed also met with the President of US Chamber of Commerce Tom Donohue and Senior Vice President for Middle East and Turkey Affairs at the US Chamber of Commerce Khush Choksy.
During the meetings, they discussed means of enhancing cooperation in the economic and trade fields. The meetings also shed light on the opportunities to boost trade exchange between Qatar and US.
The meetings reviewed the latest developments in the economic, trade and investment fields and means of developing them. The two sides also reviewed the positive results of the first phase of Qatar's economic tour of US, and discussed the preparations for the second phase of the tour.
Sheikh Ahmed highlighted the latest measures taken by Qatar to boost investments, including the Foreign Investment Regulation Act, recently approved by the Council of Ministers, which allows foreign investors 100 percent ownership in all sectors.
The Minister of Economy and Commerce also met with Governor of Kentucky State Matt Bevin, and discussed means of enhancing the bilateral relations in the economic and trade fields.
