The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has rescheduled the school working hours for the 2018/2019 academic year.
According to a circular issued by the ministry, the school day for grade one to six begins at 7am and ends at 12:30 pm on Sundays and Thursdays. On Thursday, the school day will be divided into six lesson periods only.
For grade seven to 12, the school day begins at 7am and ends at 12:30pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. For the rest of the week, the day lasts until 1:30pm. The number of lesson periods shall be seven on each day except on Wednesdays and Thursdays when there will be six periods only.
Professor Fawzia Abdulaziz al Khater, assistant undersecretary for Education Affairs at the ministry, issued a circular on certain amendments to be implemented from the beginning of the new academic year.
