Qatar Rail expects that most of the construction work at Doha Metro stations will be completed by the end of the year, which will put it on the verge of the crucial operational phase.
The observation was made by Qatar Rail Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Engineer Abdulla Abdulaziz al Subaie on Tuesday.
"The company has made great strides in the implementation of the railway project, where experimental train tests are continuing and by the end of this year, most of the work in the stations will be completed," Subaie said, adding that the company is about to enter the operational phase.
This came as Shura Council Speaker HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al Mahmoud visited the Doha Metro station and inspected the achievements made so far.
"The Doha Metro project, one of the most advanced transport projects in the region and the latest technologies in this field are applied in it is considered a great credit and achievement to the country," Mahmoud said.
