OCCIDENTAL Petroleum of Qatar (Oxy Qatar) and Qatar Youth Hostels Association (QYHA) have signed a sponsorship agreement to support youth tourism activities carried out by the association through a number of initiatives and programmes, such as 'Discover Qatar in 144 hours' and 'Qatar Explorer Guide'.
The sponsorship agreement was signed by CEO of Qatar Youth Hostels Association, Ahmed Hassan al Obaidli, and President and General Manager of Oxy Qatar, Andrew H Kershaw, and seeks to support community through programmes that are designed to develop the youth.
CEO of QYHA Ahmed Hassan al Obaidli expressed pleasure to partner with Oxy Qatar, stressing the keenness of QYHA on providing initiatives that are qualitative and aligned with the objectives of the QYHA movement in particular and the objectives of the Ministry of Culture and Sport sand the Qatar National Vision 2030 in general.
For his part, Kershaw stated that Oxy Qatar strives to be a partner of choice in programmes that strengthen local communities."As Qatar continues to grow in importance as an international destination, we are pleased to form a new partnership with Qatar Youth Hostels Association. Discover Qatar in 144 hours and Qatar Explorer Guide, provide a unique opportunity to introduce the country's cultural diversity to the world," he said.
QYHA recently launched a series of qualitative initiatives, including 'Discover Qatar in 144 hours'. This is a tourist programme directed towards groups from various youth hostels around the world, to learn about the most important tourist, heritage and sports places and to explore Qatar in 144 hours.
The 'Qatar Explorer Guide' initiative has been launched in several languages and will later be published as a luxury book to serve as a historical reference guide for Qatar travel enthusiasts. The guide addresses Arab youth in general as well as Qatari youth in particular, conveying experiences in tourism and travel and engaging in various adventures. It will also provide a vivid picture of Qatar to young explorers around the world.
