FIFA Secretary-General Fatma Samoura attended the Qatar 2022 promotional events in Gorky Park, Moscow, and got a taste of what's to come in four years' time when the tournament heads to the Arab world for the first time.
Since 7 July, more than 30,000 football fans have visited activations organised by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), the organisation tasked with building the infrastructure required to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar'99.
The activations, which run until 15 July, include the three-tiered pop-up space, Majlis Qatar, in Gorky Park, which gives visitors a taste of the atmosphere they can expect in 2022.
Samoura, who was taken on a tour of the activation from the SC's Secretary General, Hassan al Thawadi, and Assistant Secretary General for Tournament Affairs, Nasser al Khater, welcomed the country's promotion of the event, saying its presence"has been exemplary for a host nation that wishes to promote its own tournament."
"The journey to Qatar 2022 and a unique version of the FIFA World Cup has begun," Samoura said.
