THE Ministry of Transport and Communications' (MoTC) Qatar Computer Emergency Response Team (Q-CERT) recently organised a four-day National Information Assurance (NIA) Policy Implementation training course at its offices in Al Nasr Tower.
Delivered by professional certified trainers, the course was attended by representatives of 16 critical government and semi-government sectors such as transportation, health, sports and telecommunications.
The training is a part of a series of NIA Policy trainings planned for this year by the ministry's cyber security sector.
"The training is part of our strategic objectives for building up national capacities in the realm of cyber security and MoTC continues holding such training courses to develop the national cyber defence capabilities," said Engineer Khalid al Hashmi, assistant undersecretary of cyber security at MoTC.
"The NIA Policy is the national information security policy for Qatar and it is mandatory for government entities and critical industries across the country. It helps organisations implement an Information Security Management System and, thereby, build a cyber security culture within the business and improve their cyber security maturity," he added. (TNN)
