3 soldiers killed in clash with rebels in Philippines

MANILA Three soldiers have been killed in a clash with suspected communist rebels in the northern Philippines, a regional military spokesman said on Monday. The firefight erupted on Sunday while troops were on combat operations against guerrillas in the town of Besao in Mountain Province, 278 kilometres north of Manila. Two soldiers were also wounded.
