As the Eid Al Adha festivities draw closer, Doha Municipality has intensified its preparations to make the occasion joyous and safe.
Doha Municipality has announced a comprehensive plan of action for Eid Al Adha, which includes intensifying and tightening health control at food establishments, especially slaughterhouses, butcheries, consumer complexes and others.
As of August 12, the food control unit at the health control department will launch intensive inspection campaigns to ensure safety of the products on sale such as sweets, chocolates, nuts, and other eatables.
The officials will verify the validity of special offers of some food commodities and their presentation and storage, in addition to the inspection of shops selling meat, fish and poultry in complexes and consumer goods retailers.
The plan detailed the work of the food units in the markets and the municipal areas.
In the meantime, inspectors from the general control department will follow up on public hygiene efforts in the morning and evening, in addition to spotting unlicensed street vendors in co-operation with the security department concerned at the Ministry of Interior. Also, public parks are being prepared to receive visitors during the Eid holidays.
The Doha Municipality will also receive complaints round the clock during the Eid holidays. Other municipalities have also rolled out similar plans for Eid Al Adha.
