Mowasalat, the public transport company of Qatar, will operate additional bus services on select routes during the Eid Al Adha holidays, a senior official of Mowasalat has said.
"Mowasalat will continue the practice of augmenting the bus services during Eid Al Adha as in previous years," said Assad A Khalil, Public Relations and Media Executive at Corporate Communication Department of Mowasalat.
Mowasalat has a fleet of more than 4,000 taxis under Karwa and its franchises, about 80 limousines, 3,800 buses with 270 plying on 52 routes, 2,800 school buses ferrying around 65,000 students and 700 buses to serve the state during all major events.
"Mowasalat is committed to providing transportation facilities to the public on special occasions. So, the additional services on select routes will help people in remote areas to attend Eid celebrations in Doha and visit their families and friends living in different places," a Mowasalat official said.
"The late night bus services that link Doha to Industrial Area and Al Khor will be very helpful," a Mowasalat bus driver said.
An expatriate said Mowasalat bus services are of great help for a large number of workers living in the Industrial Area.
"The additional services will provide us an opportunity to visit shopping malls in Doha and attend special programmes organised by the government and different socio-cultural groups," an Asian expatriate and a regular bus passenger said.
