THE Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani has received the 'Key to Quito City', capital of the Republic of Ecuador, as a guest of honour to the republic and as an expression of the depth of friendly relations between the two countries.
Mayor of Quito Mauricio Rodas handed over the 'Key' to HH the Amir during a ceremony held at the La Capilla del Hombre museum on Tuesday, in the presence of a number of Ecuadorian officials.
HH the Amir toured the museum and was briefed on the artworks it contains. HH the Amir was accompanied by members of the official delegation.
Meanwhile, HH the Amir met on Tuesday with the President of the National Assembly of Ecuador Elizabeth Cabezas and its members, at the Assembly's building in Quito and discussed ways of strengthening the friendly relations and cooperation between Qatar and Ecuador in various fields, especially in parliamentary and legislative cooperation.
