Qatar will open its first overseas visa centre in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo on Thursday. The country is planning to open several such centres in eight countries, aiming at simplifying the recruitment procedures and protecting the rights of all parties involved in the process. The project is overseen by the Department of Support Services for Recruitment at the General Directorate of Passports at the Ministry of Interior. Services to be provided at the centres include fingerprinting services for expatriate workers, registration of vital data, medical examinations and signing of employment contracts.
