BIRLA Public School (BPS) organised a workshop on breast cancer awareness exclusively for lady teachers on Saturday.
Dr Ambika Anand conducted a complete survey of how and why breast cancer is becoming a dire force to be reckoned with.
The event themed 'Choose Hope not Fear' directed women to questions like what does breast signify to a woman's body symbol of femininity, physical, social and psychological implications, sexuality and body image leading to breast cancer.
Dr Ambika said one out of nine women gets affected, while 40,000 women die of the disease every year, and she highlighted how better outcomes are possible when diagnosed early. (TNN)
