Woqod has extended Petroleum Products Sale & Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Qatar Petroleum for another five years, its CEO Saad Rashid al Muhannadi said in a press statement on Thursday.
A new agreement has been recently executed embodying the terms, conditions and arrangements reached by the parties in this regard, he said.
Muhannadi said Woqod will be undertaking the sale purchase, marketing, distribution and transportation of petroleum products within the local market pursuant to a concession granted by the government in 2003.
The extension of the agreement enables Woqod to further carry out the scope of work entrusted to it.
Muhannadi hailed Qatar and Qatar Petroleum for the confidence reposed on the company, and for their continuous support to Woqod for the distribution of petroleum products and gas along with other services.
He said,"Such confidence and support would certainly push Woqod to exert more efforts to boost its services according to the highest standards and modern techniques.
"It will also help establishment of a modern distribution sector comprising fuel stations, transport network and integrated infrastructure facilities, which will help in fulfilling the increasing sustainable requirement of petroleum products to the state's land, air and marine facilities."
The supply will be conducted in line with the highest security, safety, health and environment, supporting country's comprehensive development endeavors, Muhannadi noted.
Muhannadi said Woqod will fully liaise and cooperate with QP to ensure consistent provision of the requirements of the state and the local market of petroleum products, and other accompanying services.
