Milaha will continue to expand its fleet of vessels and explore new trade routes, chief executive of the Qatar-based maritime and logistics conglomerate has said.
Talking to Qatar Tribune on the sidelines of the company's agreement signing with Oracle Cloud on Thursday, Milaha President and Chief Executive Officer Abdulrahman al Mannai said the number of vessels in the company's fleet has reached up to 100 and the occupancy level of all the vessels is very healthy.
"We have already started operating on many new trade routes and we always look for new business opportunities. If required, we will increase the number of container vessels to meet the growing demand of our customers in the region," Mannai said.
The company has taken a lot of initiatives to improve its operational efficiency, he noted.
The company has chosen Oracle Cloud applications to drive a major digital transformation across all its core business operations and its subsidiaries.
The initiative will help Milaha create new revenue streams by introducing innovative services and drive operational efficiency with automated processes.
Commenting on the agreement, Mannai said,"In line with 2030 Qatar National Vision and in a world of increasingly complex supply chains, constantly challenging the status quo is imperative to drive sustained growth and deliver on fast-evolving customer expectations. This is especially important for us at Milaha as our primary goal is offering synchronised solutions to our customers to help mobilise their businesses.
"The end-to-end digital transformation powered by Oracle Cloud applications will help us achieve this objective by helping drive innovation and create new business opportunities without the need to invest in additional infrastructure."
Arun Khehar, Oracle's senior vice-president of business applications for Eastern and Central Europe, Middle East and Africa (ECEMEA), said,"Milaha is a key enabler for Qatar's economic progress and this digital transformation initiative will equip Milaha with cutting edge cloud technology that will help the company continue and sustain its mission as the preferred maritime and logistics partner of choice in Qatar, the region, and internationally."
Under the initiative, Milaha will implement Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP); Enterprise Performance Management (EPM); Supply Chain Management (SCM) including IoT; Oracle Transport Management (OTM); Human Capital Management (HCM), and Customer Experience (CX) cloud applications.
Besides helping drive business agility, Oracle cloud applications will also help Milaha optimise service levels and enable efficient logistics operations.
